SURRENDER PIECE ii
"Surrender Piece II", is a collaboration with Ana María, Photographer & Creative Producer based in Berlin, about pregnancy, motherhood, and feminity. An open window to see the most vulnerable and raw part of both. Ana María (she was eight months pregnant by the time we perform) and I, mom of a 15-month-old, confronted the challenges of creating under a different umbrella, fewer movement possibilities, less time for perfection, a lot to say.
This collection of images were selected from an improvisation performance, in front and behind the camera, where we both let go of expectations of what the perfect image should be and surrendered to the creative flow of the present moment using symbolic elements that reflect the fragility and emotions raised during pregnancy and motherhood.
This collection will take part in “Mthr”, in 1221 Projekt. A space where difference and under-represent views of motherhood have a voice.

The performance reflects on the connection between "contact" and post-partum, like the new way of touch and contact the mother is experiencing with her daughter now. It will also emphasize the experience of giving birth and the postpartum in Corona time and the contrast of having her so close but the rest of the world so far. The connection/disconnection of the postpartum is even more in this current situation.

La semana pasada pudimos filmar la que hubiera sido la tercera performance, Semana 33. Gracias a Elissa de Brito, puedo compartir este momento, no podemos compartir el espacio, pero es lo más cercano que he encontrado para compartir esta experiencia. Espero que lo disfrutéis, tanto como la bebe y yo hicimos.
